Sailing Through Reality

Since it’s snowing today, I’m working on a new BuddyPress plugin for the Blog Network.  Should be interesting…

Last night I brought home a new member of the family…a new BMW 135i convertible!  My lease was up on my 325 and I had been dreaming of returning to my beloved Z4.  I was shattered when I discovered on Monday that the 2009 Z4 would not be on the market until May at the earliest…and with anticipated demand for this redesigned model being very high, my chances of a lease this year are slim to none.  My boss recently bought a 128i for his wife - she loves it, but he’s not a topless fan and found it a bit claustrophobic.  I decided to stop by the dealership yesterday to give the 135i a test drive…I think the first words out of my mouth were “Holy Crap!”  Seriously, this car is FAST!  It’s got a 3.0-liter, twin-turbo, 6-cylinder engine that puts out 300 HP!  I was sold within the first few minutes of the test drive.  :D  I ended up going home in the one I tested - fully tricked out - the only thing it doesn’t have is the navigation system.  They had a killer lease special going on, so I’m saving a ton compared to my last lease. 

All I can say is…

Woohoo!!!

I just finished e-filing my 2008 tax returns. 

I love TurboTax…special thanks to Jim for his hard work at Intuit!  Less than 30 minutes and my check is in the virtual mail!  My return is up this year due to some massive closet cleaning last fall…I donated 13 big bags of clothing to our local Goodwill.

Great timing as I’ll trading in my car in about 30 days…just in time for topless driving season to get underway!

I think that song just about sums up my mood today.  The bright blue sky outside my window might have something to do with it…but the cold temperature is the reality that prevails.  Not exactly topless driving weather, but heated seats make it tolerable.  For now.  Someday I need to live in a place the sun warms the buns year round.  Soon.
