Managed to sleep in a bit later, but still up and out of the house by 9 a.m. to the studio for a Silver Waltz class *yipee* I have attended many Silver classes but this time I was legal *grin*.
Paid bills, and to the store to pick up stuff for the pool party that one of the students was having for the studio this afternoon. It was a great afternoon sharing time with the friends from the studio, the instructors were above and beyond in fun - water fights, pool antics, hot tub, food and drink. Couldn’t get much better, but it did.
It was Gary’s birthday and so off everyone went home to clean up and regroup at a Salsa club to help celebrate. There is about 35 or 40 of us and we had a great time to 1 a.m. - and then off to the local all night dinner spot for a bite to eat. Once again, a wonderful day during vacation and what a way to warm up for the days ahead with 56 WJ’er friends in the Keys.

Thought I would be able to sleep in, however, not happening….woke up at 5 a.m. and finally got up and made lists of what I needed to get done before leaving for the Keys on Tuesday morning.
Found my carry on, went through my things that I would be taking - you know, the clean pile vs the pile that needs to be washed before packing - and made a list of things I needed from the .99 bin at Target. Went on line and found that there are 3 CVS’s within walking distance of the hotel, and decided that if I needed anything I would just get it there in the smaller sizes - after all, no sun for a year on my skin, and this year the sun has been hiding every weekend - no chance for me to get even a base tan - so small size of sunscreen will be out and being down there a week in the pool and on the boat sailing - I will just get the size down there and not mess with anything else.
Went to lunch with a friend who doesn’t work and doesn’t understand that people who work need this extra time to just get their stuff together before leaving *LOL*….from there - over to the studio for a lesson - which I found out once I got there they had a surprise for me - I was being checked out of the Senior Bronze level into Beginning Silver level on ALL of my steps. Talk about nervous - but I did it and we celebrated with a drink afterwards, nice way to start a vacation.
Dancing Friday night and then out for more dancing (salsa, bachatta, rumba, cha cha) afterwards. Late night but well worth it.

Well, I started celebrating before I even managed to get out of the office door last night *LOL*. As I was packing up the crap on my desk, putting away things that werre done - on my computer (and not on quiet) I had playing “It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere”. The group I support is a fairly young group - average age is 28 - and they just couldn’t believe that I would do that…little do they know.
Had to go argue with the US Postal Service before they closed, my mother had mailed me an express envelope which address to my work, with my name UNDER the corporation name and they did NOT deliver it. Now, I needed that envelope before I left on vacation - but I really needed to be able to tell my Mom that I received it as it was a birthday gift from her. I had been on the phone with the USPS for 30 minutes because the tracking number said it was at the Post Office waiting to be picked up (the very same post office where our company gets their mail) and I asked why it wasn’t put into PwC’s mail box for delivery this morning - the answer was “oh, we don’t go by that - we go by the name on the enevelope” don’t get me started on how stupid this sounded. At 4:3o I was at the post office - the guy said “we don’t have it”, my response was “yes, you do for I called 30 min. ago and the young lady said she had it in her hands”, he went in the back, on the way straightening out bins, pushing carts, taking his blasted time - however, a supervisor had overheard what I said and was watching - he finally went back and low and behold - the envelope was right there on the counter where the guy had first looked at said it wasn’t there. I asked the supervisor why the envelope had NOT been delivered to my office as was addressed - he didn’t have an answer and apologized…not sure I am totally done with this yet . Called my office mail room - told them what I was told - they are sending someone down to the Post office today to make sure nothing else hasn’t been delivered.
Arrived at the apt., picked up my roommates daughter and off dancing we went. So, the vacation has begun, and if I can keep up the blog you will be able to follow the fun and adventure the next two weeks bring…..

Okay, I am ready for spring to arrive. This business of being cold and rainy on a weekend has to stop!!
Today was the start of getting some chores done while my roomie was gone….like get all the information for having HD and High speed internet. We have internet service now, but the complex is changing their provider so we had to attend a meeting and give them our information and what type of service we were looking for. Now, this was funny as I was texting Christine with the information and she was texting me with her preferences and questions. The poor guy was laughing - thank goodness he had a sense of humor. This is a large complex, I got to the meeting a little after 10 a.m. - and by the time I was through with giving our information there were at least 50 people in line. Boy, am I glad I was there as early as I was - a little wait but nothing out of line. So, sometime in April we will be completely set up and ready to go without having to share one internet port.
Been fighting allergies this past week and it has turned into a sore throat that just won’t go away - especially at night. My motto is to use drugs when all else fails - but it seems that drugs aren’t doing the trick either - so finally broke down and went to the doctors - stronger medicine to fight the sinus and that should help the throat - or at least that is what I was told - we shall see
Doing some unpacking but not at break neck speed - kind of just taking it as it comes - and when I received a call from Adam and Gary about going out tonight - well, unpacking just went to the bottom of the list *smile* so, off I go to get dressed and ready to go.
More later.

Well, the massive part of the move is over - now it is on to the
piddling stuff - like unpacking (if I need it) move some more to
storage since not everything from a one bedroom apt. will fit
into a bedroom and walkin closet - talk about downsizing.
I am finding the mind set of sharing space with someone not
family is becoming very difficult. I actually was looking forward
to my roommate being gone from today through Sunday - I know
not a nice thought - but it was there.
Oh, well, tonight is dancing with my sexy dance partner - just
us, no class - and dinner afterwards - so slowly a smile is
returning to my face

Well, the move has offically started. Last night a friend from dancing brought over his van and we moved everything from the little storage closet (filled of course with things I should go through and weed out) at the complex to a storage unit off site. I thought I had more than I did, as we found many empty boxes stored - I know the reason why I kept them, my father always said keep the empty boxes in case you need to move your electronics again so they will have the protection needed…needless to say - I did not move those to the new unit.
Only took 2 hours to load, unload, load & unload again and then we went to catch a quick bite to eat. Not bad, I was having nightmares about moving that closet. Now, I am by no means finished - I have gone through the crap in the garage and weeded out and there are some boxes and vacum cleaner, exercise stuff, roller blades, etc that need to be moved tomorrow to the storage unit.
I am moving from a one bedroom apt. to a roommate situation - in which I will have a bedroom and walkin closet to put my stuff in - so down sizing is manditory. This is to get my ducks in line just in case my company decides that they need to “weed” out their staff, I want to be prepared by saving money on rent now and this will cut my rent in half. And the best part is, not only will it cut my rent but by doing this I will be able to afford JammerFest this year and my dance competitions - I will not have to make a choice between the two things I enjoy.
Part two of the move tonight between getting off work and co-teaching 2 latin classes at a nearby club. More tomorrow *smile*

My nephew has wanted to pursue a Music Major in college -
was already accepted to Northeastern on early admission - but
didn’t have to commit until May - he really wants to attend
U of MIA as that is the program he loves…he just found out
he has been admitted to USC - which is a shocker for the family
as they only take 25 new students each year out of over 350
applicants…..the family is in shock over this….looks like the
decisions are just coming around the corner to be made *smile*

Today I return to CA to celebrate with my Mom her 80th birthday. Leaving the cold East coast at about 5 p.m. tonight and landing in Long Beach, CA at about 8:30 p.m. I am not a fan of these long flights, however, it will be on Jet Blue and by going into Long Beach I will only be about 15 min from my sister’s place on the beach.
As usual, I waited to pack until this morning, however, not much to take since it supposed to rain all 3 days that I am out there - but that is still warmer than here and I will take that.
More later, most likely after arriving in CA.
