Rainy Saturday

Saturday, March 28th, 2009

Okay, I am ready for spring to arrive.  This business of being cold and rainy on a weekend has to stop!!

Today was the start of getting some chores done while my roomie was gone….like get all the information for having HD and High speed internet.  We have internet service now, but the complex is changing their provider so we had to attend a meeting and give them our information and what type of service we were looking for.  Now, this was funny as I was texting Christine with the information and she was texting me with her preferences and questions.  The poor guy was laughing - thank goodness he had a sense of humor.  This is a large complex, I got to the meeting a little after 10 a.m. - and by the time I was through with giving our information there were at least 50 people in line.  Boy, am I glad I was there as early as I was - a little wait but nothing out of line.  So, sometime in April we will be completely set up and ready to go without having to share one internet port.

Been fighting allergies this past week and it has turned into a sore throat that just won’t go away - especially at night.  My motto is to use drugs when all else fails - but it seems that drugs aren’t doing the trick either - so finally broke down and went to the doctors - stronger medicine to fight the sinus and that should help the throat - or at least that is what I was told - we shall see

Doing some unpacking but not at break neck speed - kind of just taking it as it comes - and when I received a call from Adam and Gary about going out tonight - well, unpacking just went to the bottom of the list *smile*  so, off I go to get dressed and ready to go.

More later.

The massive part is over

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Well, the massive part of the move is over - now it is on to the
piddling stuff - like unpacking (if I need it) move some more to
storage since not everything from a one bedroom apt. will fit
into a bedroom and walkin closet - talk about downsizing.

I am finding the mind set of sharing space with someone not
family is becoming very difficult. I actually was looking forward
to my roommate being gone from today through Sunday - I know
not a nice thought - but it was there.

Oh, well, tonight is dancing with my sexy dance partner - just
us, no class - and dinner afterwards - so slowly a smile is
returning to my face

Let the Move Begin

Wednesday, March 18th, 2009

Well, the move has offically started.  Last night a friend from dancing brought over his van and we moved everything from the little storage closet (filled of course with things I should go through and weed out) at the complex to a storage unit off site.  I thought I had more than I did, as we found many empty boxes stored - I know the reason why I kept them, my father always said keep the empty boxes in case you need to move your electronics again so they will have the protection needed…needless to say - I did not move those to the new unit.

Only took 2 hours to load, unload, load & unload again and then we went to catch a quick bite to eat.  Not bad, I was having nightmares about moving that closet.  Now, I am by no means finished - I have gone through the crap in the garage and weeded out and there are some boxes and vacum cleaner, exercise stuff, roller blades, etc that need to be moved tomorrow to the storage unit.

I am moving from a one bedroom apt. to a roommate situation - in which I will have a bedroom and walkin closet to put my stuff in - so down sizing is manditory.  This is to get my ducks in line just in case my company decides that they need to “weed” out their staff, I want to be prepared by saving money on rent now and this will cut my rent in half.  And the best part is, not only will it cut my rent but by doing this I will be able to afford JammerFest this year and my dance competitions - I will not have to make a choice between the two things I enjoy.

Part two of the move tonight between getting off work and co-teaching 2 latin classes at a nearby club.  More tomorrow *smile*

I have a need to brag *smile*

My nephew has wanted to pursue a Music Major in college -
was already accepted to Northeastern on early admission - but
didn’t have to commit until May - he really wants to attend
U of MIA as that is the program he loves…he just found out
he has been admitted to USC - which is a shocker for the family
as they only take 25 new students each year out of over 350
applicants…..the family is in shock over this….looks like the
decisions are just coming around the corner to be made *smile*
